Illinois DeafBlind Project Training Options

Illinois DeafBlind Project provides asynchronous (take online any time) and synchronous (at a specific time, some in-person and some online) trainings. Asynchronous trainings that offer professional development credit are on the Illinois DeafBlind Project Moodle site. Information about synchronous webinars and in-person trainings are shared on the PRC calendar (https://www.philiprockcenter.org at “Upcoming Events") and through the Illinois DeafBlind Project Constant Contact mailing list. Sign up for Constant Contact information at https://www.philiprockcenter.org/resources/newsletters.  Recorded webinars and other videos that can be viewed for information, but not professional development hours, are on the project’s YouTube page at www.youtube.com/@ILDBP.

Courses offered via Moodle can be completed at your pace. All required activities must be completed to receive a PD certificate. There is no formal “grading;” however, instructors monitor assignments and ensure assignment criteria are met. When an assignment has been documented as “completed” participants can move forward in the module. Assignments will be graded within three business days. Any temporary changes to this policy (holiday breaks, instructor vacations) will be shared within the Moodle site. Available types of PD and hours vary by course.

Sign up for a Moodle Account at https://training.ildbp.org/login/index.php.

Create new account.” Create new account is circled and written in red text.

To receive ISBE recognized PD hours, persons with IEIN numbers must register for specific courses in their PD+ accounts. This PD+ Educator’s Guide has more information on signing up for courses. Available Moodle courses are listed under provider “Philip J Rock Center and School.” As you register via PD+ you will be given a link to the Moodle site.
